El Dorado Fire Update From the Mountain Top #5
News from the Mountain Top September 20, 2020 Hello Campers and Camp Supporters: There is not a lot new information to update you on today. The fire continues to be too close to camp for my comfort but the fire crews are working tirelessly to keep the structures safe. The brother of the fallen firefighter posted this on social media: “Charles Edward Morton, Crew Boss, Big Bear Hot Shots. About 10 pm, September 17, 2020, El Dorado Fire, San Bernadino National Forest.” He will be missed. We’ve put together a sampling of photos of the El Dorado Fire taken during the past two weeks. These photos will help give a perspective about the scope of this fire and the dedication of the individuals who are working so hard to contain it. Please keep our beloved camp in your hearts over the next few days. I am anxious to get back up the mountain and be able to report back to you first hand on the status of camp…but not until it is safe to do so. Janet James
