COVID-19 and Camp de Benneville Pines
(Updated February 2025 and Subject to Change)
As we move into the 2025 camping season, the updated Camp Covid policy is the following:
The following is also required of all campers regardless of the camp’s duration.
On arrival, All Campers must fill out the Covid Intake Questionnaire and the Covid Waiver of Liability form.
While at camp, if you experience any symptoms consistent with Covid (see the Covid intake questionnaire), you must see the Camp’s medical personnel immediately. You will be evaluated and tested for Covid. Until the result appears, please practice masking and social distancing. Should you test positive, you will be quarantined until transportation from camp can be arranged; this rule has no exceptions. The pre-camp rapid testing is now optional for retreats. The deans of all camps will have the discretion to require pre-camp Covid testing.
If Covid testing is required, all campers will be notified before the start of camp. Remember, a picture of the rapid test result must be taken within 24 hours of attending registration/check-in.
The following remain true but are not required:
Masks, along with social distancing, are acceptable for those who are not comfortable while indoors with others, as well as outdoors.
Camp continues to have hand sanitizers and masks available in the lodge and upon request, as well as a plexiglass window between food service workers and campers.
Epilogue:
The constantly changing nature of the COVID epidemic has required many changes in the Camp’s infectious disease policy responses to help all campers maintain their health. Now, profound changes are again needed due to the extreme contagiousness of the new Omicron variants responsible for most new infections. The risk of catching COVID-19 in any public setting cannot be reduced to zero no matter the efforts, and people attending camp should be aware that campers live and play in close common areas. It is recommended that all vaccinated campers continue getting booster shots as directed by their healthcare provider.
