TEAM CAMP Roll Call
Stewardship News from the Mountain Top
Join TEAM CAMP and be a part of making a difference!
Being a good steward of Camp comes in many forms. Some folks volunteer to help with site maintenance, while others volunteer to work with youth. Still others donate goods and services, while some donate money or sponsor a youth to summer camp.
One very important way to participate as a camp steward is to attend the annual assembly and business meeting for Camp de Benneville Pines.
The assembly floats around the service area and finds a new home each year at a hosting UU Church. In 2024, the assembly and business meeting will take place at the UU Church of Ventura. Our host church has joined forces with Chalice UU Church in Conejo Valley to design an assembly packed with two keynote presentations, interesting workshops, field tripping, and music making. Enjoy Emma’s Revolution as they fill the house with their powerful ballads of justice making and social change.
Don’t miss out. Sign up to be a delegate from your church and play an important role in the business of camp. Each church in our service area (the old PSWD) should send at least two delegates. The cost is quite reasonable $85/$110 per person. $60/$85 Zoom. $50/$75 youth. Ventura UU members are offering Home Hospitality at little to no cost, so housing can’t be any more affordable! And of course, Ventura has a dozen or more motels/hotels if you prefer to stay in commercial lodging. And if you have a teen in your family or in your church, make sure they attend the Youth Con taking place concurrently with the assembly. Log onto the camp’s website to find full details: uucamp.org.
Support, learn and grow in community with UU’s and camp supporters from throughout the Pacific Southwest Service Area. And if you are a church president or leader, please be our guest at the President’s luncheon on Friday, with special guest speaker, Rev. Carlton Smith, Pacific West Regional Lead. Arrive early Friday so you can participate in afternoon activities.
