Line Fire Update #12
Dear Camp Supporters:
Many of you have been asking about Daisy Doodle and how she is doing during her time evacuated from camp.
Her tummy has been upset so she has not been eating much, but she remains engaged with her toys and enjoys going out on evening walks around the neighborhood. She is trying to self-entertain, but napping seems to be a very important part of her day while living the “condo-life”.
She clearly misses all of the attention she gets from campers and staff and is pretty bored with being tethered to a leash. Ho-hum!
The other night on our walk she met up with a cat on the sidewalk, and I almost got my arm ripped out of the shoulder socket trying to hold her back! It was a real stare-down between this brave feline and Daisy, who thought the cat was most assuredly, worth trying to catch! After all, at camp, chasing furry creatures is one of her favorite pastimes.
Jack MacPhee, Camp Champ Coordinator, sent me this short video of Daisy photos he has taken over the years. I hope you enjoy!

We are hopeful that the USFS will downgrade the mandatory evacuation status to an evacuation warning tomorrow so that staff may return to camp to start cleaning up. We will keep you posted as things change.
We are so appreciative of all the loving and supportive notes we have received from our campers. They fill our hearts with gratitude. Shannon P. shared a kind thought after getting the Line Fire newsletter #11:
Thank you for faithful updates, Janet; there are a lot of us hungry for news, especially good news! Wishing safety and an eventual joyous return to de Benneville for you, Daisy, camp staff, and campers —
