Camp Closure Announced through April 13, 2020
Dear Camp Family,
As you can imagine, the health and safety of our campers and camp supporters is paramount to us right now. We hope you are all well and secure at this moment.
Out of concern for the seriousness of the COVID-19 virus, and its impact on the general public, effective March 13, 2020, Camp de Benneville Pines is taking an active role in protecting the health of our campers. To this end, we have cancelled all retreats and events at camp through April 13, 2020. If you are currently registered for an event that will take place during this time, you will receive a full refund if you are registered for a camp sponsored event. Should you be attending camp with an outside lease group, your group leadership will be in contact with you regarding your registration and fees.
Camp is a place dedicated to providing for the health and well-being of all people—and we must do everything possible to limit the spread and impact of a virus which is destined to impact many in our country.
Our board of directors will meet again on Saturday, March 28, to decide if the cancellation orders will be extended thru the end of April. In the meantime, we will continue to plan for a dynamic and busy summer camping season, and I encourage you to sign up to reserve your space at summer camp.
If you are able, please register for a future camp now! Even a short interruption in service and income and cash flow can have a huge effect on our ability to keep the wheels moving on our non-profit organization. Planning together to be in community this summer will give us all something to look forward to and will help us to positively plan and to plan positively!
I look forward to the day when you are back in camp and can take a deep breath of the wonderful alpine air. Until that time, stay safe and secure at home, and keep a watchful eye on your loved ones.
From the mountain top!
Janet James, Executive Director
