Calling All Worker Bees! Help us prepare for El Nino!

About This Camp
Camp can use your help.  We are setting up a special work camp in August to handle some of the projects we can never find time to tackle during our busy season.

Do you like to paint or stain?  We are looking for some folks who would enjoy painting our new window frames green.  Yes, we got the new windows installed, and now it’s time to paint the exterior frames before the weather turns wet.   We also have a few handrails that need to be painted and a couple picnic tables to sand and paint.

If painting is not “your thing” we will also be working on some erosion control issues.  Perhaps you like rocks?  Yes, we have a few rock retaining walls to create.  These walls will be naturally stacked to help guide the water down the camp road and away from the lodge. And if you are really handy with tools, we have a rain gutter to install.

Of course, if you want to clean out the crafts shed, we welcome anyone who loves to organize! We also have our game cupboard in the lodge which can use a good cleaning and sorting after a busy summer.

This is a special work camp open to 25 happy worker bees!

Special Perks!
  • Pool will be open for use late afternoon.
  • Hot tub will be up and running too.
Come up for one last end-of-summer hoorah!  Enjoy good food and the company of others who love taking care of camp.

Projects start Friday about 1 pm, so come up early and bring a picnic lunch.  Friday dinner will be our first meal served.  We’ll wrap up the fun by noon on Sunday and finish up with lunch, and maybe one last dip in the pool!

If you have any questions about the projects, please reach out to Janet James, director@uucamp.org.  Save your spot and register today!

HEALTH UPDATE: Please help us keep the camper community healthy by staying home if you feel unwell.  Camp no longer requires Covid testing prior to arrival to camp.  Camp will continue to offer masks for those who prefer using them and will provide hand sanitizer in the lodge.  Camp will maintain a plexiglass partition on the food line and will limit the number of self-serve food items in an effort to maintain a healthy and safe food service environment. Campers are free to dine outside at the picnic tables where they are close to nature.  Additionally, Camp provides single-use paper towels for hand drying and foamy hand soap in all of its restrooms.

Camp de Benneville Pines may sometimes need to make the difficult decision to cancel camp due to a variety of factors including but not limited to the following: severe weather conditions, road closures, Covid and other contagious outbreaks, camp volunteer and site staff shortages, and other emergencies. Should the camp have to cancel, refunds will be issued.
